1995Began making pottery under the tutelage of his father, Shin Tohira

2000 He went to Florence, Italy to study and started making mosaic glass at the Leonardo Passeri studio.

2001 Enrolled in the Mosaic Course at the Centro Formazione Professionare in Ravenna, Italy

2002 Completed the Mosaicista Possatore course and returned to Japan
