≪Masayuki Imai -Brief history- ≫

1930 Born in Osaka
1952 Became a founding coterie of Kyoto Seitokai and studied under Yai Kusube
1972 Received the name of Hozangama kiln from Hounsai, head of the Urasenke family.
1978 Built Takehara Hozan Kiln (climbing kiln, anagama kiln) in his hometown of Takehara City, Hiroshima Prefecture.
2003 Received the Regional Cultural Merit Award (Hiroshima Prefecture) and became a member of the Japan Art Academy
2008 Received Kyoto Prefectural Cultural Award Special Achievement Award, Medal with Dark Blue Ribbon
2011 Japanese Cultural Merit Award
2018 Received the Order of Culture

1961 Born in Kyoto as the eldest son of Masayuki Imai
1988 Graduated from Graduate School of Fine Arts, Tokyo University of the Arts, majoring in Sculpture
2002 Received the Kyoto City Art Newcomer Award
2011 “Kyoto Pottery Seeking New World” (The Museum of Kyoto)
2015 “Vessels – Crafts of Kyoto” (National Liu Haixi Museum, Shanghai)

1989 Born as the eldest son of Masamasa Imai
2011 Kyoto Kachokan Award Scholarship 2011 Grand Prize
2015 Received the Mitsubishi Estate Award at the 63rd Tokyo University of the Arts Graduation Exhibition
