1935 Born in Gojozaka, Kyoto

1956After graduating from the ceramics craftsman training course at the Kyoto Municipal Craft Guidance Book, studied under Morikazu, his older brother.

1963 Selected for the Japan Traditional Art Crafts Exhibition for the first time

1970 Purchased by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan

1978 Received an award for excellence at the 7th Kinki Branch Exhibition of the Japan Kogei Association.

1986 “Pine Tree Tenmoku Jar” is owned by the National Palace Museum. permanent storage

1993 Collected by the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston

1996 Invited to submit to the “Golden Age of Japan Momoyama Exhibition” at the Dallas Museum of Art.

1997 Owned by Houston Museum of Art

1999 “Hanaen Tenmoku Large Bowl” and “Matsuju Tenmoku Chawan” are owned by the British Museum

2001 The National Museum of Modern Art, Kyoto possesses “Matsuki Tenmoku Large Bowl”, “Matsuki Tenmoku Vase”, “Tenmoku Glaze Jar”, “Ash Glaze Jar”, “Recreational Tenmoku Glaze Large Bowl”

2005 Received the Kyoto Prefectural Cultural Award for Distinguished Service

Dedicated to Ise Jingu Shrine, Kamigamo Shrine, etc. Has 45 solo exhibitions at department store galleries, etc.
